WHY THIS WATCH

What can we say about a Speedmaster that hasn't already been said. This particular reference was introduced in 1996, and is pretty close in terms of design to the original watch worn on the moon. The rhodium plated calibre 1861 is pretty much bullet-proof. The ref. 3570.50.00 served as the flagship of the iconic Speedmaster for 20 years making it a modern classic. 

THE LITTLE DETAILS

Serial number engraved on side of lug, as well as on the movement make this a 1998 watch. The watch is in overall excellent condition with very minor wear throughout. The case has only minor wear, no dings or deep dents, and is around 90-95%. The bracelet is also very clean, showing little wear, around 90%. The movement is running well, keeping good time and resetting to zero. No box or papers.

The Bear is Back!

 

Every year, Oris releases a Limited Edition run of watches to celebrate Holstein, the village Oris was founded in and still works out of today. The Holstein collection is one that usually sells out pretty quickly and collectors look forward to. This 2021 Holstein watch is limited to a run of 250 watches. 

Inspired by the Original Big Crown 

 

This watch has vintage feels, taking inspiration from the original Oris Big Crown from 1938. The case is the perfect size for a neo-vintage piece, at 38mm, the case is both polished and brushed. Dial-side we have a Matte Grey dial, showing a very nice pointer date complication. I've always been a fan of pointer dates, as I feel they maintain the symmetry of the dial. Flip the watch over and you get a nice engraving of the Oris Bear mascot. 

Bullet-Proof Calibre

 

Inside we have an ORIS Calibre 403, which has a longer than usual 5 day power reserve, and one of the best warranties in the business of 10 years. It's worth mentioning that the calibre this is based on, the Oris 400 is known to be a very reliable and bulletproof calibre. 

  

Wrist Impressions

 

I've always loved matte grey dials and straps, and this watch is no exception. There's just enough color here with a touch of red at 6PM for the seconds hand. The pointer date is truly useful and easy to read. At 38mm this watch is going to fit almost anyone perfectly. The big crown makes a statement but doesn't get in the way.

WHY THIS WATCH

This watch was made in a limited run of 2000 pieces to commemorate Carl Brashear, the first African American to qualify as a NAVY diver and the first amputee to qualify as a US NAVY diver. 

This watch is based on the very popular Diver's 65 aesthetic, and comes in an all-bronze case. At 40mm in diameter, 13.3mm thick, 48mm lug to lug, and with a 20mm lug width this watch will fit mosts wrists and slip under any cuff. The caseback shows a nice engraving of a vintage divers helmet, alongside a quote by Carl Brashear. This case is water resistant to 100m. 

Dial-Side, the first thing that pops out is the crystal, which is actually a highly curved sapphire crystal, though it looks like an acrylic. You get the best of both worlds here, with the scratch resistance of sapphire and vintage look of an acrylic. Gold plated  markers are used on to outline the beautiful deep blue gloss dial. The 120 click bezel is also bronze, and uni-directional with lume on the numerals. 

Inside we have the calibre 401, which is automatic winding, 5 day power reserve movement. This is no run of the mill movement. There's 2 mainsprings here, giving you 5 days of power, which is a few days more than a standard movement. The balance wheel is silicone, and tuned to -3 +5 seconds per day at the factory, which is within COSC specs. 

This is so such a great watch for the money. You're getting an all bronze case, housing a movement that is not at all run of the mill. The fact that this is limited to 2000 pieces will also help resale value.

WHY THIS WATCH This Panerai Luminor Marina Logo Bianco is a very classically designed Luminor from Panerai. It features a beautiful “Bianco” white dial with aged Luminor, small seconds register at 9 o’clock as well as chamfered and polished bezel & case. The case diameter is 44mm, lug width is 24mm, case shape is a cushion, and it features a sapphire crystal. Introduced in 2016, this watch will remains an iconic staple within the Panerai lineup.

WHY THIS WATCH This Panerai is all about the proportions. At 42mm in diameter and 15.5mm thick, it hits all the right numbers for those of us with smaller wrists that can't pull of Panerai's bigger offerings.

THE LITTLE DETAILS Watch is U Series from 2018. Watch is Near MINT with no very little signs of wear, mostly very small scratches on the side of the case that were hard to photograph, around 93%. Comes with OEM Blue Rubber strap, OEM Blue leather strap, OME Panerai Tang Buckle, outer beige cardboard box, inner black box and wood box, manuals, and warranty papework with matching serial numbers. 

WHY THIS WATCH

This 47mm Radiomir is not your average Panerai. The California dial is a combination of Arabic and Roman numerals that gives this Radiomir a unique kick. The PAM00424 has a diameter of 47mm, however, since the lug-to-lug (52mm) size is very average, it wears very well on a normal or smaller wrist.

Watch was worn very sparingly and is in overall excellent condition with only minor wear, see pictures. Watch is an R series from 2017 and was purchased from an authorized Panerai dealer. This watch is limited to 500 pieces each year and is 1XX/500. This watch was purchased brand new from a Panerai Authorized dealer in 2022, and comes with the Original Panerai Box and Papers. Watch is in overall Near-Mint condition, having been worn only a handful of times. Case is around 97%, and strap is around 95%. Since the watch was purchased in 2022, the watch is still under Panerai Warranty. The original owner has registered this watch with the extended warranty, so this watch is under WARRANTY UNTIL 2030 (see last photo). This watch retails for $8,600.

WHY THIS WATCH

Perhaps the most collectible and undervalued Nautilus on the market today. This Nautilus is exceptionally rare as it was only produced for two years from 2007-2008. The Patek 5800/1A-001 was released as part of Patek's 30th anniversary celebration and marked the release of the mid-size Nautilus, which was discontinued in the early 2000's. 

This watch has the original Patek mono-block case making it closer to Gerald Genta's original design patent than the 5711. 

THE LITTLE DETAILS

This is a one owner watch. The watch was worn exclusively by it's original owner and has signs of wear throughout the case and bracelet, see pictures. The crystal has a very minor blemish that is hard to see around the center of the dial (see wrist shot picture). The movement is running and there are no mechanical issues with the watch. The watch comes with outer box, inner Patek wood box, and paperwork.

WHY THIS WATCH

While Patek Philippe continues to churn out a range of iconic watches like the Nautilus, Perpetual Calendar, and Annual Calendar, it is still the Calatrava that embodies the essence of the brand. The Calatrava is understated, elegant, and carries inside it a top-notch mechanical movement.

The Calatrava ref. 3520 is a significant reference in the history of the Calatrava. It was the model that introduced the “Clou de Paris” (hobnail style) bezel. This  example includes a yellow gold 32mm round case topped with that now-famous bezel.  

This particular 3520 is all the more rare as the dial displays "Gubelin", an esteemed watch retailer that has been in existence since 1854. 

THE LITTLE DETAILS Watch is 32mm. Case is in overall excellent condition showing normal wear on the case. Movement is running strong without issues. Watch comes on the original Patek strap and 18K buckle.

WHY THIS WATCH

These 5 digit Rolex references continue to go up as more collectors are seeing the appeal of the older models and the better price points. Released in 1989, the reference 16570 replaced the 16550. The 16570 received an updated movement, the calibre 3185 (and later the 3186). These movements are watchmaker's dream as they remain very accurate and reliable, and are a breeze to service compared to other calibres.

The Explorer II has remained very undervalued compared to it's Submariner and GMT brothers. If you're looking for a Rolex GMT that has more of an old-school tilt, this watch may fit the bill.

First released in 1962 and discontinued in 1989, the reference 5513 enjoyed a long 27 year run. This watch is a favorite among vintage enthusiasts who prefer a submariner without a date. Early matte dial versions like the one here are becoming more rare.

Serial 1.4m makes this a 1966 watch. This watch has been worn, and is showing some wear on the case. Case has been polished in the past, but is still showing beveling.The bezel has some very light scratches. Dial is showing nice "Dirty" Lume points. Comes on the leather strap pictured. No box, no papers, no metal bracelet.
