💡WHY THIS WATCH

A timeless watch, the Rolex Day Date is a watch worn by presidents, industry captains, and Hollywood celebs. First introduced in 1956, the Day-Date has enjoyed a cult-like following since its inception. This particular example is ref. 18038, which introduced a sapphire crystal and single quickset date function. The 18038 was introduced in 1978 and ran for 10 years. This watch is from the tail end of the reference's run (1986), and is in incredible condition given its age. The biggest fault-line in older Day-Dates is that the band was prone to stretching over time. The band on this example is in excellent condition showing very little stretch. If you're in the market for an older day date with a Factory Diamond Dial, but want a tight band, scratch-resistant sapphire and the ability to change dates on the fly, this watch is for you.
