WHY THIS WATCH

The Omega Seamaster, introduced in 1948, is a renowned Swiss luxury watch line. Born from Omega's maritime legacy, it combines precision, durability, and elegant design. Over time, the Seamaster evolved, gaining popularity as James Bond's timepiece since 1995. It's a symbol of innovation, with advancements in water resistance and diving capabilities.

The reference 2531.80, introduced in the 1990s, is an iconic watch with a blue wave-patterned dial and unidirectional bezel. Gaining fame as James Bond's choice in "GoldenEye" (1995) and subsequent films, it features a helium escape valve, 300m water resistance, and an automatic chronometer movement, making it a popular and durable timepiece.

The Omega Seamaster 2531.80 houses the Calibre 1120, an automatic, chronometer-certified movement with 23 jewels. Based on the ETA 2892-A2, it features a 44-hour power reserve and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. The Calibre 1120 is known for its reliability, precision, and robustness, enhancing the watch's appeal.

On the wrist, this 41mm watch wears extremely comfortably due to the thinness of the case. What is most compelling about this watch is the fact that it's a 300m water-resistant watch that is quite thin. The bracelet is a bit dated in its design but you can't deny the ergonomics. This is one of the more versatile watches out there - suitable for formal occasions, casual outings, or underwater adventures. Oh and I love the blue wave dial!
